Every winter, Barcelona lights up with festive colors and creative installations that transform the city into a magical open-air show.

The 2025 Christmas lights officially start on November 22 and stay until early January.

 

Best Places to Enjoy the Christmas Lights

  • Passeig de Gràcia – One of the most impressive streets, with elegant arches and sparkling decorations.
  • Plaça Catalunya – A central spot with artistic light designs and a lively holiday atmosphere.
  • Gran Via – Long rows of hanging lights forming a festive tunnel effect.
  • Via Laietana – Modern, stylish LED designs that are very photogenic.
  • Port Vell – Beautiful reflections on the water and a magical seaside ambiance.

 

Itineraries

For a simple and magical walk:

  1. Start at Plaça Catalunya.
  2. Stroll up Passeig de Gràcia to enjoy the most elegant decorations.
  3. Continue along Gran Via for a long illuminated avenue.
  4. Finish on Via Laietana, or head down to Port Vell for a sparkling view by the water.
